Two transcription engines
Whisper supports many languages; Parakeet is a faster English-only option. Transcription quality depends on the recording.
Speaker diarization
Optionally separate the transcript by speaker.

Does it use the cloud?
Your recordings are transcribed on your Mac and are never uploaded. LocalScribe needs internet access to download its on-device models, activate and periodically validate your license, and check for updates. Once activated and the models are downloaded, transcription works offline.
